Questions
Frequently asked
How does booking work?
Send the inquiry form and I’ll reply within 24 hours. A signed contract and a 20% retainer hold the date; the balance is due 7 days before the session, paid through the Client Portal.
How long is a session?
Most run 60 to 90 minutes, which covers two locations within a short drive of each other and one outfit change. Longer sessions exist for couples who want a third stop or a sunset they can take slowly.
Where should we shoot?
Somewhere that already means something to you — the overlook you go to on Sundays beats the one that only photographs well. If no such place comes to mind, I keep a short list: Baker Beach at low tide, the Presidio’s eucalyptus rows, Chinatown after dark. Two places in one session is easy, so long as the drive between them stays under fifteen minutes. Crossing the city in traffic spends exactly the light we came out for.
What should we wear?
Two looks is the sweet spot: one you feel striking in, one you feel comfortable in. Think what you’d wear to a good dinner and what you’d wear on a Saturday — they are rarely the same outfit, and both make good photographs. Solid colors and soft fabrics carry movement; logos and tight patterns fight the frame.
What time of day do you shoot?
Late, always. Sessions start ninety minutes before sunset and run through the blue hour after, which is the stretch that does most of the work. Fog does not read the forecast, so we hold a backup hour later in the week from the moment we book.
When do we get the gallery?
A few edited previews within 72 hours, and the full gallery in about two weeks. Save-the-date crops are included, sized for print and for mail.
